The Camilla Rowe Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of a dedicated and loving teacher at Eisenhower Middle School. Her teaching philosophy emphasized to her students “to question, seek answers and question again in the search of Truth.”

A $1,200 Scholarship will be awarded yearly to one student to be used toward college expenses. The Albuquerque Public Schools Foundation will disperse the award. The topic of the scholarship changes every year to reflect the three main focuses of Camilla Rowe's teaching legacy: World War II and the Holocaust, American History, and Fine Arts.

Criteria:

•A graduating senior must have attended Eisenhower Middle School for a minimum of one full year.
•The applicant must be a graduating senior at La Cueva or El Dorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
•The applicant must submit an essay on a selected topic. The topic for 2018 is “How learning about the Holocaust has influenced my views of social justice.

Finalists will participate in a short interview regarding the essay and application. A member of the Camilla Rowe family will be present at the honor assembly of the winner’s school to present the scholarship.
